Conquering the Marketing Beast is Not Only For the Lucky Few

Want to know some of the biggest complaints I hear from people when it comes to marketing? It’s this:

I’m not good at marketing

I don’t like marketing

Marketing is too hard

I just had a conversation with a new client the other day about her fear of marketing … Yes! She fears marketing.

She’d rather deal with the repercussions of not marketing her business, then deal with what it’s going to take from her to actually apply marketing strategies in her business.

Crazy I know!

But she’s not alone unfortunately.

There are many like her – suffering in silence as their business continues to spiral downhill. No leads in the pipeline. Not enough clients to sustain their business. Expenses piling up and not enough income coming in to pay those expenses.

Ugh!

And I felt her anxiety continue to build as we began to speak more in-depth about her marketing plan.

“Plan? What do you mean?” she asked.

I don’t like marketing. It’s very overwhelming,” she stated.

BIG Ugh!!

As we began to craft a plan of action around how she could get her message out there more readily and created a simple, actionable plan – one that she can very easily manage and not become overwhelmed over – I began to sense her anxiety slowly dissipate.

Yes! We have conquered the marketing beast!!

Possibly for the first time she began to see what was possible with creating a marketing plan and how it could impact her business. A door was opened where it was once closed.

She began to realize that conquering the marketing beast was no longer for the lucky few, but rather anyone could do it.

There was a lightness in her talking that wasn’t there when we first started talking about marketing. There was a huge sigh of relief – and dare I say giddiness about her.

It’s amazing what a little clarity around an area that was boggling you down can do to your state of being.

But like I said, this wasn’t the first time I had a conversation such as this. And I’m sure it won’t be the last.

It was one of the reasons why I decided to team up with my partner-in-crime, and co-heart and hustle babe, Jo Colontonio from IgniteYourBusinessNow.com to launch our Marketing with Heart & Hustle Workshop in January! I saw how much people needed the hands on guidance in this area.

We were committed to taking the mystery out of marketing and supporting people in creating an actionable, marketing plan that made sense for THEIR business for 2014.

Side note: It’s going to be a blast! Can’t wait. Hehe. 😉

But no worries, you don’t have to wait until January to get a taste of what’s it going to take to conquer the marketing beast. Jo and I will be hosting a FREE Marketing Jam Session Spreecast next week! Woot woot!

More details HERE. Be there or be square.

But seriously though. Marketing is a completely learnable skill.

I did it.

Jo did it.

You can do it.

But YOU have to be the one to take the first step. I can show you the plate, but you are the one who needs to swing the bat.

My question to you is:

Are you ready to come play with us?

Agreed 😀 All it takes is a little clarity.

To an extent, I still fear marketing. But, I have learned to use that fear (an extra motivation to be more cautious and to move forward).

I have a lot of expectations for my upcoming blog; learned a lot of things from my previous attempts, and I am surely applying those lessons (mistakes) to this blog.

Hopefully everything will go as planned. Anyways, good luck to you and Jo :) I know that you guys will surely help a lot of people out there.

Anyways, I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend! Thanks for the post 😀

    1. Thanks Jeevan! I’m very excited about this workshop. It’s going to be a blast I feel.

Also wanted to say, I applaud your courage to continue to course correct and be willing to change things up in search for what feels right to you. Many people would rather stay in the same place rather than take that leap of faith.

      Chat soon. 😉
